hiScan

The “HiScan“ is based on a special linear projection procedure. It was developed to provide a system of highly precise, non-contact measuring of the upper and lower dental arches, bridges and single teeth / dies. Scan volumes of 90 mm and height of 25 mm can be realized.

As the object being scanned can also be rotated, it is possible to measure areas of a single tooth or full dentition, which cannot be seen from a single camera angle.
This allows to measure virtually the entire area of these objects with very complex surface contours. By adhering to prescribed requirement, measurement is accurate to within 14. µm Scanning normally takes from 100 - 300 sec., depending on the contour of the object and the specific requirements.

Calibrating the system, as well as recording the measurement and calculating the co-ordinates, is automatic and computerized.

Measurement results provide triangulated co-ordinates of scan points, with the number of points being determined by the receptors in the camera. The measuring system operates with a maximum of 1360 x 1024 scan points per segment. It is possible to scan up to 12 segments by rotating the object, as mentioned before. These segments are automatically merged to provide a complete image without picture matching.

An imaging program is available to illustrate the results of the scan. This program can also be used to evaluate scanned data and to prepare for further processing.
